India Vs England ODI Series 2011 - Indian Squad announced

Ind Vs Eng ODI Series 2011 News

After a humiliating chain of losses against England in England, it would be time for India to prove their stand back home. England tours to India in the month of October for an ODI series. This will consist of 5 ODI matches. India has just announced their squad for first two ODI cricket matches.

India is still crawling with injury issues. Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag are still not fit along with some other star players. The biggest news from the squad announcement is that Harbhajan Singh is dropped for the first 2 ODI matches. This has happened for the first time in years. He has always been the spearhead of Indian spin bowling attack. He is struck with some severe bad form which is the prime reason of his exclusion. He won't be featuring in the first two matches that are to be played on 14th and 17th October.

Leg spinner Rahul Sharma and medium fast bowler S Aravind would make their debut as they both are selected. Varun Aaron regained his position in the squad. He was a part of Indian ODI squad in England. Rahane and Tiwary also retained their place in the squad. A quickie Umesh Yadav also made it into the squad.

Some notable stars who are missing from the Indian squad are Tendulkar, Yuvraj Singh, Sehwag, Zaheer Khan and Munaf Patel. For the wicket keeping spot, captain MS Dhoni or Parthiv Patel can serve the cause.

There has been a buzz in the cricket fans about the exclusion of Harbhajan Singh. Few of them believe he could have regained his lost form in this series whereas few believe this was the right time to give a deserving youngster an opportunity. Similar is the discussion about Yusuf Pathan who could have been picked in the squad.
