Sri Lanka Vs South Africa 2nd Test Live Streaming Updates

SL Vs SAF 2nd Test

After losing the 1st test to South Africa, it seemed that Sri Lanka will surrender in the 2nd one too and concede the series. But good to see some tough competition out there at Kingsmead, Durban. We saw South Africa struggling to avoid follow on facing a not so big 1st innings Sri Lankan score of 338.

A lovely ton from Samaraweera helped Sri Lanka to cross the 300 mark and they were finally bowled out for 338. M de Lange showcased brilliant bowling performance for South Africa clinching 7 wickets for 81 runs. The Durban jinx continued to baffle as the home team started losing wickets very cheaply. Skipper Smith departed for 15 runs alongwith opening partner Rudolph who could just manage 7 runs. Kallis was removed for a duck.

Hashim Amla and AB de Villiers were the two most bankable South African batsmen at that juncture. They looked settled for a while as they shared a 76 runs partnership to steer the innings in the right direction. Very soon de Villiers was back to the pavilion for a score of 25 runs. Again wickets started tumbling when Prince left for 11 and Boucher for 3. Amla scored 54 before he was caught by Chandimal off the bowling of Welegedara. Steyn stayed unbeaten on 29 and South African innings was finally bundled out on 168. This becomes their lowest test score against Sri Lanka.

Welegedara was heroic with his bowling performance has he took 5 wickets giving away only 52 runs. South Africa had something to cheer about when they got an early Sri Lanka wicket of Dilshan who could just score 4 runs. The match still only into the 3rd day with Sri Lanka leading well ahead of the home team; this could be one of the biggest upset in test cricket this year. Only thing Sri Lanka needs to do is bat atleast 4 more sessions so that they can gather a minimum 250 odd runs. Adding the overnight lead will provide a target of 400 plus to the South Africans which would be a daunting task.
