Three strong teams with varied forms battled it out to reach the CB Series finals for a long one month. India who are the world champions were eliminated even though they showed a glimpse of reaching finals after an emphatic win over Srilanka at Hobart. But Srilanka were not depending on else's favour when they played against Australia at Melbourne and also registered a win to seal a place in finals. Now its time for CB Series 1st final at Brisbane.
Gabba is the same pitch where we saw couple of CB Series match this year with high scores. So we can expect another high scoring match here. True bounce would assist the bowlers to show their skills. Batsmen would be able to time the ball well and this would result in a stiff competition between bat and ball.
Srilanka has things in place right from top order to batting tail and also a good bowling line up. Malinga is in charge of quick tight bowling and he stays as leading wicket taker of this tri series. With batsmen like Chandimal, Dilshan, Jayawardene, Sangakkara all striking form; Srilanka batting department looks in safe hands.
Australia looks a bit rusty with inconsistency. They haven't been impressive as expected right from the start of this tri series. They need to pull up their socks and improve the performance if they have to beat Srilanka in the finals.
