ICC Women's World cup 2013 has embarked on in India with eight top teams locking horns for the world title. Australian women's team already has five titles to their name followed by England (3) and New Zealand (1). Let us see if this time a team like India or West Indies create an upset!

ESPN Star cricket telecasts the matches live and that helps good promotion of women's world cup. World Cup begins on 31st January with first round group matches till 5th February. Super Six matches begin from 8th Februar and lasts till 13th February. Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai will host the historic final match on 17th February 2013.

India is placed in Group A with England, West Indies and Srilanka. Meanwhile Group B includes Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Pakistan. Three teams from each group will progress ahead towards super six round.

Notably the first ever Women's cricket World Cup was played two years before men's first world cup. England won the title but since then Australia has emerged to be a strong team with five title wins. Last world cup was played way back in 2005 in South Africa. India managed to reach the final exactly the way Indian men's team reached finals in 2003 ICC world cup. With same opponents viz. Australia even the result was similar. Australia won 2005 women's world cup.

This is a great opportunity for the promotion for women's cricket that has improved its standards to newer levels in recent past. With great records owned by women's cricketer, it is great pleasure to watch women's cricket. Support them and let them reach better success stories.
