England vs Australia Cricket Series

After a lot of controversies, brave decisions, spectacular performances and quality cricket; the Ashes series is concluded and England wins it by a margin of 3-0. Although Australia lost it but they played their heart out. Let us hope for similar such competitive cricket in the T20 and ODI series also. ESPN Star Cricket will telecast the cricket matches live in India on TV.

Let us have a look at the schedule first:

If we have a look at the tour stats so far where five test matches are already played; both teams have had players contributing equally well. Ian Bell topped the charts of highest runs with 562 runs in 10 innings. His average was 62.44 and he scored 3 tons and 2 half centuries. He was followed by Shane Watson with 418 runs at an average of 41.80. Undoubtedly that can be called as Ian Bell's Ashes.

In terms of bowling; Swann took maximum wickets - 26 in 10 innings. He was followed by Ryan Harris with 24 wickets and Broad with 22 wickets equally shared by Anderson at 22 too.

As far as the previous T20 records between these two countries is concerned, out of 7 matches; England and Australia have won 3 each. One match ended in no result. Australia has been a better team in ODI matches as they have won 67 against England whereas the home team have clinched 47. Two matches were tied and two ended without any result.

England is enjoying the home conditions and home support as well. T20 and ODI is a completely different format altogether. Australia will play for its pride and strive hard to fly back with wins in ODI and T20 series. On the other hand England would love to continue the dominance.
